A Pair of Arrests Following London Heathrow ‘Pepper Spray’ Attack

Two more people have been arrested in connection with a robbery at Heathrow Airport in which 21 people were injured by what is thought to be pepper spray, according to police.

A man, 24, was taken into custody in Lambeth for suspected theft and assault and a 23-year-old woman was arrested for suspected conspiracy to commit robbery. They both remain in custody, the force said.

These detentions come after a probe into an attack at the multi-level parking garage at Terminal 3 on Sunday. Prior to the attack, a pair of female travelers were robbed of their luggage upon exiting a parking garage elevator.

A toddler aged three was among the injured in the event. Five people went to hospital for medical care and were later discharged.

Police arrested a man in his thirties on suspicion of theft and assault close to the scene. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Authorities were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of several people injured by a noxious substance believed to be pepper spray.

The assault - which police said was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - caused delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park for a short time.
